Although both paintings of the Last Supper by Jacopo Tintoretto and Leonardo De Vinci are deciding the same scene that are many differences in the styles, and of how they believed it went down. While Devincis style is somewhat plain and focusing more on the human element, Tintoretto's depiction is much busy, and has spiritual aspects that are clearly visible. Devincis painted his more than a century earlier leaving Tinoretto's style to be more developed, and have kind of a newer look to it because of possible new paint. Devincis focuses on the whole table while Tentoretto has his painting focusing in on the Savior who is distributing bread and wine, which is actually from his body this is the moment Jesus is believed to sacrifice his body. He also has halos around all of the apostles, Devinci does not have as obvious distinguishing marks in his painting. Tintorretto has ordinary servants all to the right of the painting. Devincis painting is semetric while Tintorretto is in no way semetric.

Case Study

Many artists sought to interpret the world in new ways. The artists from the cubist movement artists try to show all sides of a three-dimensional object on a flat surface or canvas. These artists include Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Juan Gris.

The cubist theory began in France. The theory behind the cubist approach was a painting is a flat surface and should remain that way. There are two different types of cubist paintings, Analytic Cubism and Synthetic Cubism. Analytic Cubism was based on how Cubist artists would separate their subject and then put it back together in different ways. Synthetic Cubism deals with the artist combining many different art elements into one artwork.

Due to the point of having many angles appear at the same time, you probably would not be able to identify the object. Many of the objects are broken down into simple structures like lines and half circles. The confusion, which is due to the complex arrangement of the shapes, is often heightened by the broken line affect.

Colors and textures are also considered in making and arranging a cubist painting. The common cubist painting practice involves using dull, drab colors. Usually bland shades of brown, gray and other boring colors are used. Textures are also a factor in cubist art. One specific technique when producing many different textures in one artwork is a collage.

Unlike most art, cubist art all may not express the emotional side but rather the intellectual side. The main goal of cubist artists is to show through their works the way things actually are. Cubism shows objects as they are, but still with some amount of abstractness within the painting. This is due to the use of color in texture. Many may say Cubism is too intellectual for art.

Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso was probably the most famous artist of the twentieth century. During his artistic career, which lasted more than 75 years, he created thousands of works, not only paintings but also sculptures, prints, and ceramics, using all kinds of materials. He almost single-handedly created modern art. He changed art more profoundly than any other artist of this century.

First famous for his pioneering role in Cubism, Picasso continued to develop his art with a pace and vitality comparable to the accelerated technological and cultural changes of the twentieth century. Each change embodied a radical new idea, and it might be said that Picasso lived several artistic lifetimes.

Picasso was born on October 5, 1881, in Malaga, Spain. Picasso, at the age of 14, completed the one-month qualifying examination of the Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona in one day. From there he went to the Academy of San Fernando in Madrid.

For Picasso the 10s were years of rich artistic exploration and great productivity. Picasso continued to design theater sets and painted in Cubist, Classical and Surreal modes. From 1 to 11, he pioneered wrought iron sculpture with his old friend Julio Gonzalez. In the early 10s, Picasso did a large quantity of graphic illustrations.

During World War II, Picasso lived in Paris, where he turned his energy to the art of ceramics. From 147 to 150, he pursued new methods of lithography.

The l50s saw the beginning of a number of large retrospective exhibits of his works. During this time he began to a paint a series of works conceived as free variations on old master paintings.

In the 160s, he produced a monumental 50-foot sculpture for the Chicago Civic Center. In 170, Picasso donated more than 800 of his works to the Berenguer de Aguilar Palace Museum in Barcelona.

Pablo Picasso died on April 8, 17 in Mougins, France at the age of 1.

write a story about a kid alien (like the one in your picture) who takes him/herself on its own trip in its new ufo, and lands on earth accidently and makes friends with a kid on earth?

In a galaxy far, far away, further than the furthest galaxy, that is far, far away, there floats a planet. This is like any other planet in the universe, square, purple and with big rocks orbiting around it. This quite normal and fabulous planet, inhabited by the newly formed species known as Yobbos, not like the kind you would find in Werribe, Footscray and places like that, but these Yobbos were short and stumpy, with three eyes, two on it head and the third on a tentacle that was adjoined to the top of his scalp. These Yobbos had two arms and two legs, which we connect in a way which looked as if the were permanently take a crap. They had no mouths, but had ears which was weird, as they had no means of verbally communicating, the way in which they communicated was by urinating what they wanted to say, in their own language or course. The Yobbos were a fairly new race, but had evolved very rapidly, out developing the humans by several magnitudes. They had not yet discovered life beyond their planet, as they still hadn't overcome the problem of fall over the edge of the planet. In this planet of billion Yobbos there lay one Yobbo destined for greatness, her name was Aras.

Aras had just turn 54, she was now legally allowed to drive a vehicle. Aras was stoked she had been hanging out to drive for 567 years. Now the day finally came. She had always said that as soon as she turner 54 she go out and get her license, but when push can to shove, she just couldn't be bothered, she was too busy hanging out with other Yobbos in her home town of Ollopa Yab. In frustration her parents were sick of her being lazy they though they could entice her to get her license, thus helping her get out more and "stop being a bum," so they bought her the a new ship, the new series UFO 18i. But Aras parents' enticement didn't work on Aras, still she procrastinated and just bummed around and drunk water, (which is the Yobbo form of alcohol). Finally Aras decide she would shut her parents up by actually given the never been used UFO a test spin, she still didn't have a license I might add. She jumped in to the UFO, activated it and was just crusin' round the block, when she though " bugger this, I wanna go out for a real spin in space!" Without consciously thinking it through she followed her instincts, soon enough she was in hyperspace, out f control, with no idea whatsoever where she was heading.

Well it ended up she ran out of fuel, in a galaxy far, far away known as "The Milky Way," for some reason she felt strangely hungry. According to her little computer thing, the strange mystical planet of Earth was the only appropriate planet where fuel can be found. Following the instructions of the computer she landed in a place called Melbourne, wear the most abundant fuel source is located. She hopped out of her UFO, in the middle of the day, to everyone's horror, except one person with a strange name, Onoj. Onoj was too pissed he didn't know any different, and thought Aras was humpty dumpty, so he struck up a conversation with Aras. Apparently she was stuck without fuel, and need to get home otherwise she'll miss Larson's River. The computer was right Melbourne was the most abundant place for her fuel source, Onoj was able too find all the fuel she needed at the VB factory, will he was there Onoj got some fuel for himself. Aras was able to fly in time for Larson's creek, Onoj went back with her mainly because he passed out in her UFO 18i.

In today's society teenage pregnancy is growing. Though the percentile has lowered some in the past ten years, it is still a huge problem today. There are many disadvantages to being a teenage mother and being the child of one. Being the parent at such a young age takes away many opportunities for you. You now cant go and explore the possibilities of your future. You are now forced to explore the opportunities of the future of your child. They now become number one in your life. They must be the first thing you think about when you wake up, and the last thing you think about before you go to sleep. Theres no more going out with your friends and you can forget about the club or team you were or want to be on. Most teenagers, when they find out they are going to become parents drop out of school. That is one of the biggest problems when becoming a teenage parent. At the time it seems like the right thing to do. You figure this will give you more time with your child, and more opportunity to get a job and support a child.

Many times the parents of these teenagers support them and encourage them to stay in school, but that doesnt always help. What these teenagers need to realize is that its their education that will lead them to get better jobs to help support there child. Because the government sees this, they have made laws in many states saying that teenagers must finish high school while being pregnant in order to receive any kind of government assistance. The other parent must also be involved in the child's life proving that the child will somewhat have a stable life.

The child also plays a major role in this. They are the ones who must live with the parent's decision to get pregnant at such an early age. This child must live with what will most likely be a low income family. They probably wont get the same kind of things that most kids, if born to a couple at a normal age, might receive. It is most likely that this child will not have both parents in their life. When teenage girls get pregnant, more than half the time the father will break up with the girl and leave her with the responsibility. In reverse the mother can give birth, but then leave the father to take care of them and live with the responsibility.

With these huge problems in the child's life, they might have the tendency to grow up with mental problems. Theres the possibility of learning disabilities, or maybe even more serious conditions that might lead to hospilization. Because the parent made the wrong decision to have sex and give birth when they werent ready, these children must live with the consequences.

There are many possibilities if a teenager were to get pregnant. They could give it up for adoption, have an abortion, or grow up and take on the responsibility in having a child. They can also look into community programs or other resources that may help in making a decision. The best decision though would be to not have sex, and if you are, to act responsibly so you wont have to face the decisions and responsibilities that someone at that age arent and shouldnt be ready to handle. Today it is getting better, but its still not at its best. The day we can say that things have gotten better is the day that that every child is cared for and in a happy home. Sadly enough that day may never come.

So as you can probably tell from reading this I wouldn't want to get myself in this situation and I think teen pregnancy is really bad. But, I sympathize for any teenage girl who has to worry about a baby for the rest of her life.

• Many people inside/outside a company want to know if the company is performing well, and compare it to other years as well as to other companies.

There are two forms of doing this

To understand these terms, there is need to verify each meaning

 Net profit Before tax is found on the Profit and Loss Account, it is calculated by

=

Profit before tax Revenue (Minus) All costs

 Net Assets employed is found on the balance sheet us calculated by

=

Net assets employed Total assets (Minus) Total Liabilities

By knowing this the formula is then used The percentage shows how well the management of the business have used the assets employed in the business to generate money, this is compare with other years and companies, to see their progress. If the % is larger than the year before it is an improvement if there is a lower % the company is deterioration. A normal increase I would consider more a company is between 5-10% increase since it is enough growth, if it exceed this percentage the government takes action, because their profit is too large and may be exploiting their employees.

The other way to see whether the company is on the right track is

This is called the Profit Margin

The figures show the percentage of profit in each dollar of sale. It is usually called the mark up ratio; this will be compare with other years and companies, to see their progress. If there is a larger % than their companies it shows an improvement in their profit. If the company is from 7% higher than their competitors in my company is a great success.

• This is an important question, especially to creditors like banks.

To understand this, it is needed to check the terms used

 Current assets are Cash or short term uses of finance that a business can turn into cash.

Such as stock.

 Current liabilities is what the business owes, but at short terms.

Such as overdraft or money owed to creditors.

• The ratio that was shown after the formula shows how well the business is able to meet short term debts from its current assets. It is good to note that to be able to keep on operating the current ratio has to be larger than one (1).

This is a more specific way in which the company can show the way of looking how well a business can pay the debts. Stocks are taken out of the current assets because the business may not be able to sell them quickly or at the right price. The normal Acid test ratio is between 0.5 and 1.

This is the question most interested Shareholders are asking themselves, to see if they have an opportunity to gain any profit from the dividends.

Two types of Ratios may be used

This shows how successful the management of the business has used the money the money invested by shareholders. Return of 15-0% is reasonable during a period of economic recession.

Another type is Gearing

Both of this figures are found on the Balance sheet, the percentage shows how much of all the company's capital is owed. If a high percentage is owed, the company is growing faster, however it is more risky due to the fact that if they are not able to repay it, it may lead to bankruptcy. Or if there is a low percentage the company is growing fairly slow but securely. It is normal to have a gearing of 10-0% to be a normal growth if it is exceed to 0-40% , to be a more risky gearing.

(High Load Capital) = (High Risky Growth) And inversed…

One of the greatest city states of all time was the city state of Athens from which we take many of our modern ways. Their government was a full democracy in which they had an assembly made of all male citizens over 5 years old, a council of five hundred who proposed laws to the assembly, a court, where there were no judges and the juries were very large, and archons, which were nine people with the most power. They believed in participation in government as a civic responsibility. They believed that everyone was entitled to education, not just the elite. They were concerned with money and they had unproductive soil, which meant they would have to find other ways to make money, so they became sea traders. Because they owned slaves, they had a lot of time to pursue cultural interests, so they began performing dramatic plays for their entertainment and enjoyment.

There were several areas of classes of people in Athens. Free men were all male citizens divided into numerous classes at the top were aristocrats who had large estates and made up the cavalry or captained triremes; middle ranks were small farmers; lowest class was the thetes. The Metics were those who came from outside the city; they were not allowed to own land, but could run industries and businesses. Slaves were lowest class, but less harshly treated than in most other Greek cities. Slaves had no rights, and an owner could kill a slave. Slaves varied in status some were given important roles in Athens, like policemen. Women were rarely seen outside the home and had no rights in the Athenian democracy. Athens had a strong military navy.

The Spartan government was different, in many ways, from the Athenian government; their government was Totalitarian. They had the five ephors, which were overseers and were the real rulers of Sparta, a council of Elders, which was made up of 8 men over 60 and they proposed laws to the assembly, and kings who were elected by the assembly and served as high priests, judges, and army commanders. Their Assembly, which was made up of citizens over 0, elected officials and voted on major policies. Children of citizens were raised to be Spartan, taught to get along with almost nothing. Spartiate citizens were not permitted to own gold or silver or luxuries. Spartan children were taught to respect elderly, women, and warriors. Sparta prided themselves in a strong army, best and most feared fighters on land.

Their city was built in a valley and had no walls because they said they could defend from invaders. Unlike the Athenians, their soil supported farming. The Helots, which were their slaves, compared to Athens their slaves were treated worse than dirt. The smart and strong slaves were put to death in fear that they may rebel, because slaves outnumbered citizens there.

Was Athens Stronger than Sparta? Was Sparta stronger than Athens? It is not secret that Sparta had a stronger army, their army was the strongest. Furthermore, we know that Athens had the stronger navy. We know that in the end, Athens lost. Literally speaking, Sparta was stronger, they beat Athens. But each civilization, in their own ways was stronger than the other. Each had it's strengths and weaknesses alike.

Please note that this sample paper on Compare and contrast society in Athens and Sparta. Which was the stronger society? is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes.
