All of the characters in Hamlet spy, eavesdrop, use trickery and assemble plots in order to find out what the other characters are plotting. Evidence from Shakespeare's Hamlet demonstrates quite clearly that deception will lead to corruption. Deception acts as a major factor to the characters' downfall. Treacherous acts in this play lead to nothing but trouble. Throughout the play there is a progression of corruption that leads to death.

Deceit plays a major role in Hamlet, causing the deaths of most of the characters in the play. Everybody who dies in the play is either lied to by those who want them dead, or stabbed in the back by those dearest to them. In Act Scene , Polonius agrees to eavesdrop on Hamlet's conversation with his mother by hiding behind a curtain. This act of deception gets Polonius killed because Hamlet stabs the curtain thinking that Claudius was behind it. Laertes is also a participant in deception, although he is unaware, he is a pawn in Claudius' evil scheme to kill Hamlet. Laertes and Claudius plan to kill Hamlet in a cowardly form of deception by poisoning the sword, and drink. Deceit is also the cause of Ophelia's death when she is given the impression that she is no longer loved, by Hamlet, who is just pretending to be mad and really has feelings for her. As proven from above, there are no benefits from deception.

In Hamlet treachery, another type of betrayal, often results in death or punishment. The characters are so distrustful because each one realizes the corruption of their own nature, and think that their fellow men must be the same. The first and foremost case of treachery is the basis of which the play began, Old King Hamlet's murder by his brother Claudius for the crown. This treacherous act opened the door for revenge, which lead to Claudius' death. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were killed due to their treachery, and Hamlet fooled them when they were escorting him to his death, which leads to their own demise. Ophelia was also guilty of treachery to Hamlet which results in his betrayal to her. She agrees to participate in Caludius' and Polonius' plan to set up Hamlet by listening in behind the two-way mirrors. When Hamlet suspects that someone is listening to his conversation with Ophelia, he acts like a mad man and says cruel things, "Virtue cannot so inoculate our old stock but we shall relish of it." (Act , Scene 1) All the promises he had made to her before that day are now broken; and he has now betrayed her trust. Therefore, her act of treachery eventually leads to her downfall for Hamlet pushes her away and when her father dies, she has no one to turn to which made her go mad. Treacherous acts cause a loss in trust and respect, therefore, none will be gained in return.

Throughout Hamlet there is a progression of corruption that leads to death The war going on outside of Denmark only added to the corruption going on inside. "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark," (Act I, Scene 4). It could be interpreted that he is speaking of a threat of war, but when looked at as symbolic, nothing could better sum up Claudius corrupting effect on the kingdom which is brought on by his unpunished crime. Polonius is perhaps the most obviously corrupt character in Hamlet. He's meddling and subversive, as he sets spies on his own son, and finally irredeemably and ultimately fatally corrupt and subversive, as he schemes and plots around Hamlet. His death - physical corruption - is a precursor, signifying to the audience the ultimate fate of all those characters exhibiting signs of corruption.

In situations, as mentioned above, the ones who create the deception, are the ones who fall victim to their own treacherous plan. In other cases, it is the innocence of a person that leads them to their fatality. One thing is clear, Hamlet lived in a world of lies, treason, and cold hearted murder, while all he searches for is retribution. Although he does get it in the end, it comes with a costly price his own life. After all, Hamlet himself best describes the amount of honesty in the world by saying, Ay, sir. To be honest, as this world goes, is to be one man / picked out of ten thousand. (Act ,Scene ). The majority of people in the world are honest most of the time, but it is rare to find someone who is completely honest. For even white lies are a form of deception.

Direct approach is not disguised, the purpose of the study is known to the respondents, or is not a secret. Focus groups and in-depth interviews are forms of direct approach.

Indirect approach disguises the real reason the interview is being conducted. This is usually done when you suspect that the respondents will not offer their real opinions about an issue, or if you think that opinions will get tainted because of a strong opinion in the market or image.

Focus Group

Develop a focus group for regular hotel guests for Sheraton suites at the airport, because of steady decline of customer service scores for the housekeeping department.

Invite eight guests who stay at the same property more than ten times a year. To lure regular guests into this focus group, we have to make them understand that this group's idea will be used to make the hotel a better place to stay. All participants will be given a free weekend stay with family at the Sheraton during the survey.

Screening question How many times in a year do you stay at the Sheraton Airport in Philadelphia? Anybody no of nights is less than ten will automatically be ruled out for the focus group.

The moderators outline will be decided by the areas which are the most notoriuos for getting least scores in the housekeeping survey. The moderator needs to focus on those areas. The moderator will also ask the regular guests for some other areas which they think need attention besides the one pointed out in the bad customer service scores. An Unlovely Creature

Most people enjoy going to a bar and having a few alcoholic beverages once in a while. It can be very relaxing and fun, but no one wants or plans to be excessively drunk. It can be very unattractive and appalling to be drunk, however, there are some people who want to get drunk and stay drunk for as long as they can no matter how degrading it may be. My uncle Joe is one of them. He has spent almost thirty years of his life drinking in bars. He has sabotaged his health and sanity due to alcohol abuse, and he might not ever have a chance to repair himself. He is a hopeless drunk that everyone tries to avoid. There is absolutely nothing appealing about him. His outward appearance and odor make people feel nauseated. Where he lives is even worse. No one, not even the mailman, wants to come within twenty feet of his rundown mobile home. Worst of all, he is very immature. He has the mentality of a ten year-old at the age of forty-seven. He lives his life without self-respect, integrity, or discipline, and has the loneliest life imaginable. Joe's appearance, personality, and lifestyle are very depressing and degrading.

My uncle Joe's body is a case example of what alcohol abuse can do to the human body. His skin is very pale, and it is covered with pockmarks, blemishes, body hair, and freckles. His shoulders are broad but thin, and his back is hunched over which makes his shoulders droop down. It makes him appear intimidating because he is always looking down when he walks, and it looks like he wants to attack someone. He has very long thin arms and legs that are very frail, but he has an enormous potbelly that hangs down to his upper legs. From a distance, my uncle looks like four long wiry tree branches attached to a balloon. He also has an enormous head and neck that are packed with fat. His head and neck look like a watermelon lying on top of two thick pancakes. What is really unhealthy about him is his odor. Since he never takes a shower, he smells like cheap cigarettes, beer, and rotten onions all mixed together, and it can be detected from twenty feet away.

His face is rather uncommon as well, and it is a scary sight to see. It is very coarse and bumpy. He has long wiry brown hair that hangs down to his shoulders and it appears to be glued to the sides of his head. His face is very pale, but he has very dark purple circles around his bloodshot blue eyes, which makes him appear to be half dead. He has two deep scars on his right cheek that look somewhat like gills on a fish. His cheeks are puffed out like chestnuts, but they sag down quite a bit, so it looks almost like he has three chins. He has a short gray wiry beard with a thick gray mustache. When he is angry his face looks like a pile of fat, wrinkles, and gray hair. He is angry almost all the time. He never brushes his teeth so his breath smells like cigarettes and stale beer. His teeth are as yellow as a lemon, and are covered with moldy brown spots. Personal hygiene is the last thing my uncle thinks about.

Joe is even worse when it comes to taking care of his own home. It appears as if it could fall apart at any minute. He has a fifty-year-old mobile home in a very secluded rural area that is surrounded by trees instead of houses. Old empty beer cans and bottles that are lying in long, brown blades of dead grass also surround the house. It is a small box-shaped one-room mobile home. It used to have a white coat of paint on it, but now it is so tarnished with dirt it is brown with white spots. Most of the windows have long cracks in them. The inside of Joes' house is very dark and humid. The smell of stale beer, sour milk, and urine linger around the house. The house is almost bare. There are two plastic chairs, a bed, a T.V., and a small refrigerator, which are all covered with dirt, green fungus, and black cigarette burns. He does have a couple of pairs of light blue jeans and two gray t-shirts laying on the side of his bed which he uses as a pillow, and they are covered with beer stains and cigarette burns as well. Most of his house has a thin coat of beer stains and green fungus. The tile floor has countless cracks in it, and it is covered with cigarette ashes, beer stains, and dirt. The wallpaper bears all kinds of stains, burn marks, and tears. Worst of all, there are roaches crawling around in the sink. Joe does not care about the upkeep of his house and it is because of a lack of discipline and lack of maturity.

The most degrading aspect of my uncle is his behavior because he is the most self-centered, immature, and belligerent person I know. It is very embarrassing to be out in public with him. He will pick on me by calling me names like "moron" and "stupid punk kid", but if I try to tease him he will get very defensive and try to push me or slap me. He is not afraid to push anyone out of his way, and if they say something he will try to start a fistfight. When he is at a bar he enjoys belching out loud and shouting absurd comments like "ALLRIGHT" or "WOOHOO" really loud. Whenever a woman walks by him he is always sure to let her know how great her butt looks, but he will also try to insult her by telling her she has an ugly face or too many pimples. He really likes calling people "fat bastards". If he is waiting in line at a grocery store or a bank he always has to say, "come on you fat bastard, hurry up!" My uncle thinks it's funny to hurt other people, and he cannot see how it has affected his life.

It is very hard for me to see my own uncle live like this. When I see him drinking at a bar or when I look at his decrepit mobile home I feel very sorry for him, but I have learned something from him. He has definitely taught me a lesson about discipline and self-respect. Watching him has motivated me to take action in my life. I realize how important it is to clean up after myself, respect others, and find a career. I hope he can find a better life for himself, but it probably won't happen until he quits drinking.

It is hard-pressing to think of many organizations in America that are fighting for the benefits of the entire population. In every instance, even with organizations as seemingly good-natured as one that, for example, converts abandoned warehouses into parks, certain groups will not be happy with the result. Perhaps a private firm had plans to build a shopping complex in the area. From this, it could be inferred that there is no such thing as a public interest group, only individual groups fighting for private causes. This is not the case, however, as will be evident when I define understanding of a public interest group, and compare this public interest group structurally to the format of a regular interest group, noting differences in funding, membership, and motives.

For an interest group to be public, it must seek some collective good, but not selectively and materially benefit members of the organization. This is not to say that every public interest organization has to be fighting for the betterment of the entire population. It just means that the end results of the organizations work must not be subtractive to its non-targets. If, for example, an organization receives a grant from the federal government to increase funds for technology in all public high schools in the state of Kentucky, there has been a depletion of public resources in order to benefit the Kentuckian teens. Thus the organization is not a public interest group. If however another organization receives a grant to increase technology at public libraries across the country, public goods are increased remains intact and the interest group is public.

Because those affected by public interest groups receive the benefits whether or not they support the organization, funding must come from a third party. This third party is usually a foundation or collection of foundations that believe in the cause the organization is fighting for. With the foundations providing the monetary backbone, these P.I.G.'s must be careful not to succumb to the pressures of these foundations seeking restitution, while at the same time keeping them happy enough to continue sending in money. Interest groups, on the other hand, depend more on the support of individual members. Successful interest groups are able to offer selective benefits to members in order to encourage support. Giving discounts or sending out newsletters and magazines are all examples of selective benefits. These benefits serve not only as a way to continually receive money from long-time members, but also put pressure on non-members to join in order to join in on the benefits. Because public interest groups don't have this option, they rely on media coverage and mass mailings to encourage public participation.

There is controversy over whether the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Foundation, or MALDEF is a public interest group or not. MALDEF hires high-power attorneys to fight Mexican American causes like improved schools in heavily Chicano-populated areas. Under the laid out definitions, it appears to be a public interest group. The cost of membership is zero. If you are a Mexican American citizen, then the organization is going to be fighting for your interests no matter if you send them money or not. It can be argued that since MALDEF is targeted at bettering the lives of Mexican Americans and not the rest of the population, the collective good is not met. However, the goal of MALDEF is to erase past discriminations of Chicanos, like bringing their education up to par with the rest of the population, not giving them superior facilities. Even though MALDEF targets only a certain ethnicity, equal education benefits the population as a whole.

Order Custom Essay on Public Interest Groups

Both public and non-public interest groups, no matter what they say or do, are not going to make everyone happy. As David Hume puts it, "Men fight for their interests, but their interests are up for interpretation." This is due to our self-interested tendencies. Often our vision of the public good is clouded by our own interests. Public interest groups manage to remain by not interfering with our self-interests by remaining non-subtractive. This way progress can be made without ruffling the feathers of the status quo.

Equal rights for minorities, especially women, in a civilization can strengthen a country internally but equal rights do not guarantee peace or the long term success of a country. Athens, for example, did not give equal rights to minorities, but that did not lead to its collapse. Correspondingly, today, many more women have rights but countries still go to war. And, furthermore, since two thousand years ago we have learned that a woman's contribution in the American society is very important and equal rights will strengthen a country.

During its Golden Age, Athens neglected to give minorities, particularly women, equal rights and opportunities. However, that did not lead to the end of Athens Golden Age. In Athens women were not allowed to be philosophers or politicians, which prohibited them from becoming powerful and influential leaders in the eyes of Greece. Nevertheless, without equal rights Athens still flourished. Some people may even say that ancient Greece and Athens' basic principles are still alive today, for example the teachings of many philosophers such as Socrates. Whether or not women had equal rights during Athens' time, is irrelevant. Greece still may have been over thrown by the Spartans, and Athens still may have gone to war with out Percales leading the way. Even today in America women have equal rights but we are still going to war.

Today many more women around the world have equal rights but countries are still collapsing and they are still going to war. Condaleezza Rice, for example is the National Security Advisor, so she might suggest to President Bush that America should go to war. Rice, being a woman, has rights and holds a key leadership position in our country. In 00, women are holding powerful positions in the government and they have equal rights but America has still been facing hard times. For example since September 11 the stock market has been declining which is not a woman's fault, let alone a single persons' fault. In America, since 10, women have had rights and they hold the power to vote and be part of the government. Since 10, America has still been going to war, proving that women's rights can only make a country strong.

In the last two thousand years we have learned that a woman's contribution is significant in American society. Americans have also learned that equal rights will only strengthen our country and make it a better, more democratic place for people to live. Equality has allowed men and women to share rights and responsibilities in and out of the home. Plenty of women today manage the home while they hold a job. In Athens, women would not be able to even leave the house and men would think that their main job is to manage the household. By giving women equal rights in and out of the home America now has a fuller democracy where many different opinions are heard. Before women had theses rights in America, the democracy was all men and only a few different ideas were heard, and now with women in the democracy many different Ideas and thoughts are voiced. Because women have equal rights and they are entitled to be an integral part of society, they can now spend their time and energy on making America, as well as the world around them a better place to live, rather than spending energy on fighting just to be heard. For example I know an amazing women who is spending her time gathering congregations from around New England to get people to help build houses for Habitat for Humanity. She herself is on her third house. Therefore, equal rights for women are very important if you want a strong government and an all around good place for people to live.

Equality for all people, including women, in a civilization is very substantial and can strengthen a country internally. However, equal rights do not guarantee peace or long term success of a civilization. Take Athens for example, the Athenians did not give women rights but that did not necessarily lead to its collapse. Also, today, more and more women are getting rights all through out the word but countries are still going to war and they still may collapse. Further more, Americans especially have learned that a woman's contribution in a society will help to strengthen a country and make is a wonderful place to live.

Many people think of only one type of child abuse. The term abuse covers a wide range of behaviors that may or may not involve actual physical abuse. Some are physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, forced confinement, neglect, abuse towards pets or property, spiritual abuse, witnessing abuse, and financial abuse (Wise 5). The four main types of child abuse are sexual, physical, emotional, and neglect.

Sexual abuse is the employment, use, persuasion, inducement, enticement, or coercion of any child to engage in, or assist any other person to engage in any sexually explicit conduct or simulation of such conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct. Sexual abuse is also the rape, statutory rape, molestation, prostitution, or other forms of sexual exploitation of children, or incest with children (Pride 18).

The National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect defines child physical abuse as "The physical injury or maltreatment of a child under the age of eighteen by a person who is responsible for the child's welfare under circumstances which indicate that the child's wealth or welfare is harmed or threatened." (Sanders 0). Physical abuse includes pushing or shoving, slapping, biting, kicking, choking, hitting, punching, stomping or throwing objects (Sanders 4).

The National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect defines child neglect as "failure to provide for the child's basic needs." (Sanders ). Neglect can be physical, educational, or emotional. Physical neglect includes refusal of or delay in seeking health care, abandonment, expulsion from the home or refusal to allow a runaway to return home, and inadequate supervision. Educational neglect includes the allowance of chronic truancy and failure to a special educational need. Emotional neglect includes such actions as marked inattention to the child's needs for affection, refusal of or failure to provide psychological care and permission of the use of drugs and alcohol. The assessment of child neglect requires consideration of cultural values and standards of care as well as recognition that the failure to provide the necessities of life may be related to poverty (Sanders 6).

Emotional abuse is the act or omission by the parents or caregivers to a child that have caused, or could cause, serious behavioral, cognitive, emotional, or mental disorders (Ackerman 55). In some cases of emotional abuse, the acts of parents alone without any harm evident in the child's behavior or condition, are sufficient to warrant child protective services to intervene. For example, the parents/caregivers may use extreme or bizarre forms of punishment, such as confinement of a child in a dark closet. Less severe acts, such as habitual scapegoating, belittling, or rejecting treatment, are often difficult to prove. (Cain 7).

Emotional abuse is the core of all forms of abuse, and the long-term effects of child abuse and neglect in general stem mainly from the emotional aspects of abuse (Cain 1).

1. What was Galileo's achievement?

Galileo's achievement was to discredit, once and for all, the long cherished view that the earth is the centre of a universe whose sole purpose is the sustaining of human life. The world, Galileo claimed is not always as we see it. He went on further to suggest that overnight we humans became bit part players in a drama whose stage dwarfed us by its magnificence, in a plot for which we were at best a minor footnote. Galileo marked the end of a long haul up from the first glimmerings of a conscious thought in the mind of some prehistoric human ancestor a quarter of a million years ago to the triumphs of fully fledged modern science.

. What is the reason why we should be concerned about the minority that espouses anti science sentiments?

The reason why we should be concerned about the minority that espouses anti science sentiments is that many of these individuals are often educated, more articulate and more committed to their particular views than the average citizen. A significant number of them are university educated (though, of course, they tend to hold degrees in the humanities). More importantly, they frequently occupy influential positions within the social, educational and political power that is out of all proportion to their number.

. In its most extreme forms within the social sciences and the humanities, how does the Postmodern influence present itself?

In its most extreme forms within the social sciences

and the humanities, the Postmodern influence often

presents itself as the claim that there is no standard

against which the validity of any idea can be tested.

Its proponents cannot agree on a common agenda

(because to do so would privilege some ideas above

others), and the general thrust of the movement is

self consciously towards intellectual anarchy. In

the social and historical sciences, it quite commonly

takes the form of a wholly uncritical presentation of

alternative views, irrespective of how rational or

coherent these views might be. The reader is left to

make of it what he or she will.

4. What common element is shared by the startling growth

in fundamentalism, the spawning of numerous cults and

Postmodernism?

Yes the common element shared by the startling growth in fundamentalism is the spawning of numerous cults, Postmodernism, and an information gap of potentially disastrous proportions. Neither the proverbial man in the street nor many of those who avow Postmodernist views in the humanities have any real understanding of what scientists do or how science works. Science has become a form of magic practiced by an elite priesthood whose members have been subjected to a long and arduous apprenticeship in secret arts and rites from which the layman is firmly excluded. These two phenomenal characteristics of the late twentieth century are either self consciously anti science, actively seek to constrain in activities in radical ways or marked by the emergence of philosophies of despair among intellectual elites within the humanities.

5. What two mis conceptions have crept into public

debates on science?

The two mis conceptions that have crept into public debates on science is the public's actual knowledge and understanding of it and an ambivalence tinged with a growing sense of alienation, of no longer being in control of our destinies. Robert Dunbar believes that there is growing evidence to suggest that this antipathy towards science has if anything, deepened as the humanities have perceived themselves to be increasingly beleaguered by the sciences. What he found to be most disturbing was that people, particularly those of school age, are being turned off science either because they find them to be to difficult or because they find them to boring. He goes on to state that if the quality of science students is poor, then the quality of science teachers in the next generation as well as the quality of industrial research and development will also be poor, for it is these same students who must fill these roles in the years ahead. We simply cannot do away with science because the global scale of the populations of the industrialized world will result in upheavals and social chaos which would dwarf our past experiences of war, plague and famine

By setting sharp, clearly defined goals, you can measure and take pride in the achievement of those goals. You can see forward progress in what might previously have seemed a long pointless grind. By setting goals, you will also raise your self-confidence, as you recognize your ability and competence in achieving the goals that you have set. The process of achieving goals and seeing this achievement gives you confidence that you will be able to achieve higher and more difficult goals. Goals are set on a number of different levels firstly you decide what you want to do with your life and what large-scale goals you want to achieve. Then you break these down into the smaller and smaller targets that you must hit so that you reach your lifetime goals. Finally, once you have your plan, you start working towards achieving it. I have always set goals in my life, but they have always been goals that were easily obtainable. Now that I know the importance of getting a good education and setting higher goals for my life, I feel the University of Phoenix will provide me with the opportunity and the tools I need to reach my goals. This will be my first online education course and so far it has been an excellence learning experience. My number one reason for taking this program is to be the first person in my family to get a college degree. The University of Phoenix has put together a great program and if I stay focused I will be able to meet that goal. In these first to weeks I have already learned better study habit, learned how I learning better, and learned team learning skills. I also have some professional goals too. The University of Phoenix provides a professional graduate degree program for individuals who hold or will hold positions of managerial responsibility in organizations. I want to learn key business concepts and to better develop my professional skills in a number of areas. I want contemporary knowledge in areas of managerial decision-making, including marketing, finance, operations management, and general administration. I want to learn the impacts of key external environmental contingencies on businesses and the industries in which they operate. Develop professional competencies in the areas of teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and cross-functional business applications. Be aware of societal expectations of organizations and the importance of making managerial decisions within an ethical framework. I know this is alot to learn, but I feel the hard work will be worth the prize. There are a few areas I must work on in order to reach my goals and one of them is time management. Working full time and having a family make managing time for school very difficult. I often find myself asking for more hours in a day or a couple more days in the week. If I learn to better mangage my time this will allow me to focus better on the task in front of me, without worrying about what I didnt do or what I need to do. Time management will also help me be a better student and a less stressed husband and father. I always find myself telling my kids how important it is to further their education, so I figure what better way to practice what I preach. They really get excited about homework time, now that they know daddy has homework too. Im sure I will need a lesson in career development, cause we all know things dont always workout as planned. Career development my extend my goals further than I have envisioned. What meets my needs at this stage of life may not work at another. Technology never stops, so we should never stop learning. This program will also give me the knowledge to make consumer decisions. All the information I need is available to me if I make a conscious effort to become informed about any given topic. I know I need a refresher in my math skills. Since high school I havent done much math at all. I hope to learn some business math and accounting to give me an advantage in such diverse areas as completing income tax returns, computing interest paid on loans or credit cards, investing in retirement plans, and receiving the maximum benefits offered at work. Often benefits that employers offer go unused because individuals dont take the time to calculate their value. I dont want to be a victim. And finally communication skills, this is personal as well as professional. I want to improve my ability to communicate effectively with both small and large groups of people.

This is one of the other games. The type of game is animation. The main character of this game is snake. The version of this game is two. I made this game for one month.

This game has experienced expansion for two years. The first version of this game is 0.1 or beta version. I try to complete this game moment by moment, step by step, event by event.

The first version of this game is very bad. The screen or output of this game may be in graphic screen, but that graphic screen is very bad or we call it, the graphic screen is not support something that is very important (D output and the speed to transfer data is very late). Besides that, many facilities in this game are not support like the other snake game. In this game we can find many lacks.

After two years, I can make the last version of this game. This game uses good graphic screen. We can find many facilities in this version game like the other snake game. These facilities are more than the other snake game. For example snake game in Nokia HP, its facilities as not complete as my snake game. The facilities in snake game can divide in four parts. In part one, we can see event last view, event continue, and event new game. In part two, there is only top score box. In part three, we can find option for categories that organize with snake's body, maze, speed, how many snakes are, and sound. The categories are wrap, maze, level, timer, add long, 1 player, players, and sound. The animation is like D object (not full), the sounds, and the object is like in actually world. And the animation that we can find in event last view is the dead snake outs blood from its head.

In part two, we can see only top score box. In top score box, we see a name who played it and his/her score (high score). There is only one name with one score. But, this top score is very dependent by the third part. For example, we play in different timer can produce different top score, too. But, the old top score is not influenced by the new top score in that case.

In part three, we see many categories are like wrap, maze, level, timer, add long, 1 player, players, and sound. In wrap and sound categories, we find two options. Those are on and off. In maze category, we can choose many maze. This game can produces until one hundred mazes. In level category, we find four options. Those are beginner, intermediate, advance, and expert. In timer category, we find six options. Those are none, slow, snail, medium, fast, and blazing. In add long category, we find three options. Those are short, medium, and long. This category is used to give the add value for snake's body if the snake eats food. If we choose 1 player category, we only play with one self. If we choose player category, we will play with another player. In player category, we find three options. Those are player Vs player, player Vs computer, computer Vs computer. Saint Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologiae contains his teaching on natural law and its relation to eternal and human law. Law, according to Aquinas is a "dictate of practical reason emanating from the ruler who governs." This "rule and measure" can exist in two ways, a rule being promulgated or a rule being received from promulgation. To understand Aquinas' explanation of natural law one must first understand his view of eternal law. Eternal law is the rule dictated to us by Divine Reason, being that God rules the world with Divine Providence. This law is eternal because God's reason, not subject to time, is eternal.

Natural law exists due to a rational creature's participation in eternal law. Law, as described earlier, can exist as a rule being received from promulgation. This means that a person takes part in eternal law insofar as it is promulgated to him. Rational creatures share in Divine Providence by being able to comprehend, to some degree, the Divine Reason revealed to them through eternal law. This participation in Divine Reason directs rational creatures to an end, and is what Aquinas calls natural law. Thus it is from eternal that we have natural law.

Natural law also gives way for what Aquinas calls human law. This occurs by rational creatures drawing conclusions from what is revealed to them from natural law. Aquinas explains how conclusions drawn from "naturally known indemonstrable principles" leads to the different sciences, which are not imparted by nature. In the same way human reason takes natural law and must make conclusions that apply to particular situations. These conclusions, arrived at through human reason, are what Aquinas calls human law. Human law, because subject to human reason, may contain error unlike eternal and natural law. It is thus that Aquinas explains natural law coming from eternal law and giving way to human law.

There are 6 main types of power. I am going to give an example of how I have experienced each type.

Legitimate Power

An example of when I have experienced legitimate power is when I was at school, by my teacher. My teacher asked me to tidy the classroom and her desk and I did it straight away without a moan, but if another classmate asked me to tidy their desk, I wouldn't have done it. This is because my teacher had legitimate power over me.

I also experience legitimate power when I am babysitting. The children I baby-sit look up to me and respect what I say; when I tell them to do something they do it.

Help with essay on Age communication

Expert Power

I have experienced expert power when I saw 'Tommy Emmanuel' perform. He is an amazing guitar expert. He was so good that in my head, I put him up on a pedestal.

Reward Power

I have experience reward power from my boss, every time I reached the set target, my boss would give me a cd voucher. Since I desired cd vouchers, I worked as efficiently as I could.

Coercive Power

I have experienced coercive power at boarding school. If we were late to meals we had to wait until the entire boarding school had there meals, then we had to go up by ourselves and sit at the 'late table' with the staff next to us. This is coercive power because if we do not comply we were punished.

Referent Power

I have experienced referent power when I was younger. I have always been right into hockey, and while I was growing up, I wanted to be just like Mandy Smith (who then was playing for New Zealand). So Mandy Smith had referent power over me, which in a sense decreased when she retired from hockey.

Information or Persuasion Power

I have experienced information power when I went to the Addidas Fitness Specialist. This is the same person who advises the All Blacks. To me he knew everything, and everything he said was like gold to me, he explained what he said clearly and logically. So I erased all the 'old theories' that I had been told from friends and abided by his theories and methods. This doctor had information power over me.

Compliance Gaining Strategies

A compliance gaining strategy that I respond best to is 'liking'. I am a person that enjoys doing things for others, especially my mates and those who appreciate it. So if someone does something for me, I appreciate it a lot, and am more than happy to return the favour and comply with what they want.

A compliance gaining strategy that does not work well with me is 'threat'. As soon as someone threatens me, I immediately oppose and refuse to do it. Although I might be quite happy to do the task asked if I was asked in a non-threatening way, and better still if I had the chance to offer my self. But as soon as I am threatened, I will refuse to do it, mainly to prove a point and retain my power.

Implications for Businesses

1. Identify who controls the information networks and gain access to such people

When I began playing squash at Mid-Western I had to identify the information network. After being there for a short while and talking to members, I established who organised the draws, who I could contact if I couldn't make it and more. When I got to know these people well, I received benefits such as flexible playing times to suit my life style, and courts with good lighting etc.

. Identify which rewards are desired by the people you work with

Within the squash club, I identified which rewards different people were after e.g. some wanted to improve; to move up a grade and some wanted to be wo/men champion.

. Learn how to delegate power to increase support base

While I was at Mid-Wester squash club, I set up a junior squash training session. When the group got too big and the abilities were distant between the group, I decided to split the group into the older stronger players, and the beginners. Then I found it to be taking too much of my time so I delegated power to a member of my senior group to run the beginners session. By delegating power, I made my work load more suitable, gave others power, and increased my own power and support base.

4. Learn how to manage relationships

To manage the relation ships I had at Mid-Western squash club, communication was the key. I was communicating with my junior coach, with the squash committee for times and with the member of the coaching clinics. With good communication it was easy to have good relationships with all associated with the squash club.

America's Political History

The Federal Republic of the United States of America is oldest constitutional republic in the world, even though it was merely by chance that it was found. Christopher Columbus, a Spaniard, was sailing due west in order to find the Indies, but instead landed in a country we now as America in 14.

The Spaniards weren't to impress with this country and virtually left it alone. But just over one hundred years later the British decided to establish a permanent settlement on the banks of the James River, called James town. These early settlements had their share of difficulties but managed to survive and soon word spread that this land was a place of new opportunity and by the late 1750's America had a population of over million people separated into 1 colonies along the west coast. Britain's rule at this time was described as 'Benign and Distant' and each of the colonies had set up there own form of local government. They had their own elected mayor and councillors who had extensive legislative power, which meant that they could do what ever they wanted in terms of lawmaking.

Back in England, come 1760, would see the ascension of King George III. And at this time Britain we fighting a war against the French and the Indians and at the conclusion of that war in 176, The British drew up what is known as the Proclamation line. The Proclamation line was a line that the settlers in America could not cross to expand westward. It was a tool used so that Britain could keep more control over the settlers. After the war Britain was in tremendous debt and over the next ten years imposed various taxes on the settlers such as Stamp Tax, Sugar Tax and even a Tax to pay for the garrisoned soldiers in the states. In response to this the settlers started to revolt, the catch phrase "no taxation without representation" was forged because the British wouldn't allow an American representative in their parliament but had no problem hitting them up for money. In 177 a group of settlers dressed up as Indians and threw a ships cargo of Tea into the sea, this is known as the Boston tea party. A group of America's most wealthy and influential men met in secret to discuss the draft for an 'article of confederation' a set of laws upon which they would live and be governed by, they met once in 1774 (to no avail) and again in 1775. That year was when fighting first broke out in Lexington, Concord and it was then that they formed their first army the Continental Army.

Do my essay on America's political history CHEAP !

On the 4th July 1776, America declared it's independence from Britain but it wasn't until eight years later that the war was over and the British pulled out of America. The same group of rich, influential white males that gathered 10 years earlier decided to fix the articles of confederation and drew up the American constitution that was ratified in September that year. In 1785, that country was now formally known as the United Stated of America.

In 171 a Bill of Rights was written to allow the 'great American dream' to open for all men. Throughout the 1800's America prospered with a number of states admitted to the Union. But there was a major issue of slavery as the states were divided into slave states and free states, the Northern states called for the abolition of slavery and the southern states decided to 'break away' from the North. It was this fact that started the Civil war and at a later date it was said that slaves should be free in order to get their support for the war. In 1865 the emancipation proclamation was laid down and slavery was officially abolished at the end of the war.

Over the next few centuries many amendments have been made to the constitution such as in 151 when an amendment was made to limit the number of terms that a president could serve, brought on by the fact that a president died from old age whilst in term of office. Also another amendment was the fact that no president can engage in war for more that 0 days with out congressional support, this was brought on after Nixon put troops in Korea.

That is a very brief over view on America's political history re-enforcing the statement that The Federal Republic of the United States of America is oldest constitutional republic in the world. America is now a country where a man in a log cabin can one day become president of the United States.

I am writing an imaginative piece about the above phrase. It is going to be an adventure story about the discovery of a mystical place. It is intended to show the journey of my character as he goes through his journey.

They say "It was a wonderful place, full of romance and beauty," that's before it was lost to the ages, erased from existence, but only heard about in fables and scriptures. It was then know as "The Sacred Castle on the Hill," compared to the Garden of Eden and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. For hundreds of years adventures, believers and thefts searched for it for its beauty and wealth, but it seemed the more they had search the more fabled it seemed.

The myth of the "Castle on the Hill," was slowly evaporating out of history, until I, the semi-retired adventure, Africana Combs, discovered the pieces of the lost map of Willis. Together the map of Willis will lead one to the 'Castle on the Hill'. I would think that this would be the best place to say were it all went wrong. I was going down the wrong path before I even knew it. I was in the mist of the Amazon, on a trek through the Amazon, when I accidentally discovered the first piece, Yar. From this it showed the way to not only the second piece of the map, but also re-ignited my belief in the fabled myth. So my search began for the second piece, Si. After much deliberation with my fellow colleagues at the Oxford University, and also with my stepmother, who is credited to first telling me of the myth, we were able to decipher the path to the second piece.

The second piece was tremendously difficult to locate, as it was deep in the Forrests of Omoc Island, off the coast of Indonesia. It was an arduous task to reach the island. A 0-hour flight direct to Jakarta, then a -hour trip on what hardly seemed like a boat, which I was very doubtful that it would be able to make the journey. Once I was on the nearest island to Omoc Island I negotiated to get a native canoe as well as guide. But during the process I was disturbed by the repeated warnings of the island and the stories of the Etyek, which I later found meant "evil beast" in the native tongue. My fears were soon to be dispelled as the island was found to be uninhabited, except for a few birds. I retrieved the Piece of Si, with minimal troubles and I was soon flying to London, for further examination of the map.

Together with the Piece of Yar, the two pieces pointed the way to the third piece The Piece of Looc. It turned out that the piece was located in Waterloo, Trinidad and Tobago. "I always wanted to go there," I remember saying to myself. The third piece wasn't as hard to find, but required me to search the entire town to solve recover it. I eventually found the piece just outside the town, where the shoreline would have been hundreds of years ago. Instead of flying straight back to home, I stayed in Waterloo for a few more days to get some welcomed sun that seems to be missing in London.

Little I had known that my not so lovely stepmother had been following me since I found the second piece. Even though then I was not aware of this, I was growing suspicious of her, as she was being very inquisitive about my findings. She was being more harassing then she normally is. But at the time I didn't think much of it, I guessed she was keen because she said she was once an adventure like me. Another reason why I had dismissed it was I had found the third piece, I had completed the Map of Willis, or so I had thought. As soon as I returned from Trinidad and Tobago I drove straight to my office with the Piece of Yar, the Piece of Si and the Piece of Looc, to piece together the map. I was shocked! I was enraged! There was a forth piece to the puzzle! I tried all possibilities but the pieces didn't fit together; there was definitely a forth unknown piece. Angry and tired I stormed out of my office, I was certain that it was all a hoax by my colleagues or an April fools joke that was five months overdue. I had wasted all that money and time traveling the world just for a laugh. A few days passed, but I could not think of anything but the map so I decide that I should take a closer look at the map. I looked at it from all different angles, through numerous equipments, and slowly saw that there was another hidden message within the three pieces. It was another set of directions to the forth and final piece, The Forgotten Piece of Ethos. It seemed that nobody I had a clue about the Piece of Ethos. It didn't take much convincing to continue the journey, as I was fully engrossed into finding the "Castle on the Hill".

My next destination was to the south of mainland Australia. The Piece of Ethos would be located near a river known as the Yarra. I must say the journey to Australia was on of the most horrid I have had experienced, the plane trip was shocking on my stomach. After what seemed like 5 hours I finally reached Australia. My search of the Yarra was long and tedious, as no one had told me that the Yarra was actually quite long. The piece of Ethos was situated close to the ocean towards the delta of the river. In my possession I finally had the four pieces of the Map of Willis. I pieced together the map, then turned it over to decipher the message. It wasn't very hard as it was very short. The message read as "Walk across the road."

I followed the directions of the map, and walked across the road. There was a strange forest there, so I walked into the forest only to be confronted by a gate with long vines hanging off it shortly after entering the forest. The gate wouldn't open, so I had to scale it and then jump over to the other side. I jump right into this giant field of immensely thick shrub and grass, but that didn't bother me because I was in awe of what stood before me. The scriptures, stories and fables were true; I was in another world. I was staring at the great "Castle on the Hill".
